Class Photos: “The Classics”
- Vintage Barbour Bedale jacket, shirt by Hamilton 1883, denim by A.P.C. (all available at The Class Room)
- Shoes by Alden, from private collection
The Class Room’s Barbour Vintage Coat Rack is now available online while supplies last. When our Style Director Alan came across this small collection of jackets, already broken in and worn to vintage perfection, he knew he had to scoop them up for the shop.
Since 1894, English company J. Barbour and Sons has been producing the world’s most durable, longest lasting, and not to mention stylish weatherproof waxed cotton outerwear. The quality of Barbour jackets is so renowned that they hold royal warrants to supply waterproof and protective clothing to Queen Elizabeth II, the Prince of Wales, and the Duke of Edinburgh. When it comes to waxed cotton jackets, there is Barbour, and then there is everything else.
The Barbour Bedale is a #menswear favorite. It has the shortest length among the classic Barbour styles and features the Barbour tartan lining and corduroy collar. Its medium weight combined with the durability of Barbour’s waxed cotton makes this jacket extremely versatile and suitable for a number of weather conditions. Styling a Bedale can be just as versatile. You can dress it up and get your #menswear on with a crisp buttondown, dark raw denim, and some brogues, or you can get your #streetwear swag up and pair the Bedale with a crewneck sweater, beat up denim, sneakers, and a 5-panel to set the whole thing off. Whatever your steez, it’s pretty easy to make a Bedale work for you.
